''Cause a Scene'' is a studio album by Canadian country music vocalist and songwriter Karen Lee Batten. On May 27, 2014, it was released on Fontana North. ''Cause a Scene'' led to Batten earning seven nominations at the British Columbia Country Music Association Awards,〔 including Best Album, Entertainer, Female Vocalist, Video, Single, Website and Fan’s Choice.〔 The director of "Cause a Scene," Stephano Barberis, also won Video Director of the Year.〔 ==Production== By the spring of 2013 Batten was working on her sophomore album in a recording studio.〔 A number of Canadian sidemen were brought in for the recording sessions, and it was recorded with producer John MacArthur Ellis, who is known for working with artists such as Barney Bentall, Doc Walker, Ridley Bent, and Tara Oram.〔 Some of the eleven songs were co-written by Batten during collaborative sessions in Nashville, Tennessee.〔 Batten has stated that the song selection was a careful process,〔 as "I wanted to love every word on this album... you hope to have an album that gets played for years and years... and I wanted to make sure that I loved singing those songs for years and years too. It’s all of me... wrapped up in 11 songs."〔 The tracks are diverse in style, with the soft ballad "Life Worth Living," the country rock single "Cause a Scene,"〔 to the dance track "Big Love."〔 There is also a cover of the song "Minute by Minute" by The Doobie Brothers.〔 About how the album differed from her debut ''Every Moment,'' she stated that "everyone goes through different stages in life and it’s the same thing with albums... this album is definitely a little more emotional and I feel like I have opened up a whole lot more."〔
